Coastal Road Trip

On the last day we took a road trip along the coast from San Francisco to Santa Cruz.

This is dried beef jerky with a lemon sauce we ate at a Thai restaurant

The view along the coast line was gorgeous!

Local flora is nice. It's desert-y and dry

We got caught by a wave. Nasty nasty fishy smell

All kinds of weird people on the beach

Selfie!

The coast view form the car

A drive through San Francisco rich place. Gorgeous house #1

Pier and more

Day four: we went to the Pier. It was Saturday, to tons of tourists.
It was at first a gloomy foggy day, but we got some sun later on in the day :)

Japantown pagode. It was pretty nice!

Lombard street. It is a zig-zag street and the view of the city is amasing

Lots of tourists....

The policewoman got angry!

See that tower on the left part of the picture? I'll talk about it soon.

An old mini Copper :)

Here is the tower. It is called the Coit Tower. It was build in honor of a man by his grieving widow. The man really liked firemen. Interesting to see that the tower kind of looks like a fireman hose nozzle. Apparently it's completely unintentional.

Beautiful view of the city!

We got on a boat at the Pier to go under the Golden Gate bridge.
This is the island prison of Alcatraz

Creepy...

Notice the sun! It was sunny for a whole 2 hours. Still enough time to get a sunburn

This was the Pier

Wonders of San Frannie

Day three of the trip: I listened to the conference talks via live streaming from our host's home and then we went for a great walk around San Francisco. We walked 7 km!

Fuelling up with some greek yogurt in the morning...

There was a lot of street art murals all over the city

Entrance to Chinatown

The street with all the expensive fashion designer stores (a.k.a Richie-Rich Street)

San Francisco has hills

We aren't even at the top yet.....

Chinatown building

Cable car. Public transportation form the 1900s turned tourist attraction. It works via a huge-ass cable that pulls the carts all over the city

Tired....

Beautiful Stanford - a.k.a The Day of "HAVE YOU SEEN THE PALMTREE"???

The first day I attended the Data Science conference at Stanford. The campus is beautiful and full of great looking buildings.

First thing we saw was a huge amount of tourists that just go to Stanford to hang out there.

The medical building where the conference was. Honestly, it shows when a University is richie-rich.... The food is fantastic and the presentation: wow!

I can totally relate to just sitting around there and studying

Lunch was served under a tent...... enough said :)

Most if not all buildings have this colour theme: yellow building -  red roof

With the palm trees I almost felt like I was in Spain..... or maybe in a oriental-inspired MMO-RPG

The totem was huge: couldn't wrap my arms around it

More gorgeous buildings....

Really Stanford? How is it you are so pretty?
